Practice Policies

This page sets out the key policies and information that apply to all appointments with Joyful Soles Foot Healthcare. I ask that all patients take a moment to read through these before their appointment — if you have any questions about anything here, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

CANCELLATION POLICY

I kindly ask for a minimum of 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This helps me manage my diary and make sure I can offer that time to other patients who need it.

To help with this, you will receive an appointment reminder 48 hours before your appointment — this is a good opportunity to let me know if you need to make any changes.

If you need to cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice, a cancellation fee of 50% of your treatment fee will apply. In the case of a missed appointment without any prior notice, the full treatment fee will be due.

I completely understand that sometimes life gets in the way — if you have any extenuating circumstances please let me know as soon as you can and I'll always do my best to be flexible.

RETURNING AFTER A LONG ABSENCE

If you haven't been seen for 12 months or more, I'll ask you to book a new patient appointment rather than a routine one. This allows me to take an updated medical history and carry out fresh neurovascular checks before any treatment, ensuring I'm providing the safest and most appropriate care for you.

3

PRICING AND ANNUAL REVIEW

I make every effort to keep my prices fair, accessible and sustainable. To ensure this, I review my pricing once a year in April, in line with the tax year, taking into account any changes to stock costs and overheads. I will always give reasonable notice of any price changes before they take effect.

4

PAYMENT

Payment is due at the end of your appointment. I accept cash, card and bank transfer. For card payments, an email or text receipt is available on request. If you require a written confirmation of treatment received, this can also be provided on request.

5

YOUR HEALTH INFORMATION

As part of your care, I collect and hold relevant medical and health information including your medical history, current medications and any conditions that may affect your treatment. This information is used solely to ensure I can provide you with safe, appropriate and personalised foot care, and is held securely and confidentially in line with data protection legislation.

It is important that you keep me informed of any changes to your health, medications or medical history as soon as possible — either by letting me know directly or at your next appointment.

6

SCOPE OF PRACTICE

I am a qualified Foot Health Practitioner (FHP) and provide routine foot healthcare. I am not a podiatrist and am not qualified to perform surgery or prescribe medication.

If I identify anything during your appointment that falls outside my scope of practice, I will discuss this with you and refer you to the most appropriate professional — most commonly your GP, NHS podiatry, or a private podiatrist if you prefer. I will always seek your agreement before making a referral, except in circumstances where there is a safeguarding concern or another clinically significant reason that requires me to act without delay.
